Wow. I have been hesitant to write this review because I have been unsure how to adequately express my appreciation for Dr. Schwaegler and his staff. I never expected to really need surgery, but Dr. Schwaegler told me in my initial consult that if it came to surgery, I would be convinced I needed it. Dr. Schwaegler is not “surgery crazy” like some surgeons I’ve met, and he gave me several options I could try before I decided on surgery. Unexpectedly, my situation became more of a crisis over my winter break. I was in so much pain, and Dr. S. did everything he could to help me. He did evals over Zoom calls, prescribed meds, checked back in on me to see if the meds were really helping. Anytime I called, he would return my call within 24 hours. I ended up needing surgery and I have never had a better medical experience. Amazing nurse, Lester, amazing anesthesiologist Dr. Gold, and of course Dr. Schwaegler. During my follow ups post surgery Dr. S or P.A. Jeff again always responded to my questions within 24 hours. I had to go out of my insurance network to see Dr. Schwaegler, but I would do it again in a heartbeat! I’m feeling better every day!

Exceptional Care by Dr. Schwaegler, Jeff, Dr.Gold and staff members. I recently had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Schwaegler for bulging disc which was impacting a nerve causing exterme pain in my knee after a previous knee surgery. From the initial consultation to the post-treatment follow-up, Dr. Schwaegler’s expertise and compassionate care were evident. Dr. Schwaegler and his team demonstrated the utmost professionalism. They provided clear explanations about the diagnosis, treatment options, and what I could expect during recovery. Dr. Schwaegler’s skillful approach to spinal care is commendable. My pain relief and improved mobility was exceptional. One of the things that stood out the most was the personalized attention and reassurance provided throughout my treatment journey. I had debilitating back pain from a herniated disc and wasn't able to do day to day activities let alone enjoy my life. My friend recommended that I see Dr. Schwaegler. It's hands down the BEST decision I've ever made. The whole team is caring, kind and invested in their patients having the best outcome they can. The surgery went perfectly and I was able to return to my normal life 3 months later. I can never thank Dr. Schwaegler enough for giving me my life back. Dr. Schwaegler saw my husband via FaceTime at 6:30 p.m. on a Friday evening and we were checking into his office 3 hours away the next morning for an 8 a.m. surgery time. He saw that my husband's condition was rapidly deteriorating and he squeezed him in for emergent surgery. This was not on our radar and Dr. Schwaegler, Jeff, and the staff were so kind and compassionate. The aftercare was just as superb. He is hands-down the best practitioner in Washington State and we are so fortunate he met our need.

My experience with the Seattle Spine Institute and all the staff was wonderful. I can’t say enough about how professional and caring everyone was. I would highly recommend all of the fantastic people there.

I've never encountered a more professional team in a time of need that was solely focused on my much needed back operation that took place on a Holiday weekend in Seattle at the Spine Institute. I came home to Yakima the same day. Follow-up was expertly done by Jeff Fernandez with daily calls from him checking on any issues. He made himself available almost at all times to answer my concerns. Thank you for saving my life!

The care Dr Schwaegler, Jeff, and staff provide goes far beyond expectations. They checked in frequently after I was released and three months after surgery still do. They establish personal, professional relationships demonstrating how much they care about their patients. I’ve recommended family and friends drive across the state for the best spine care.

Dr. Schwaegler is no ordinary doctor. He performed 2 different surgeries on me over 11 years. When I called his office after an extensive search, they returned my call the next day and scheduled an appointment. He spent ample time doing diagnostic work before both procedures to learn as much as possible before surgery. He made several phone calls to me personally before and after surgery. He also worked with my insurance to get them to approve my most recent procedure which had been disapproved. He’s thorough and conservative in his thinking about surgery. He explains things clearly and I completely trust his judgment. He’s so down to earth and talks to you like you matter. My first surgery was a do-over (failed fusion by another doctor). It was difficult and complicated. Afterwards, I had to stay in the hospital. It was very late evening and I remember as we rolled into the room it wasn’t quite ready. Dr. Schwaegler himself changed the sheets on the bed for me. Who does that? No other Dr. I know. His team is also excellent and very experienced. I cannot recommend Dr. Schwaegler more highly and I’m grateful for his care. Kate Home

Gosh- I could fill up a notebook of positive comments. My local PT person, Greg, led me to the Dr Schwaegler team of Lester, Jeff, Dr Gold and Dr Schwaegler. I’d reached rock bottom with my back/spine issues. In an 8 hr surgery- all was restored! I experienced quality communication from the office staff prior to surgery. The day of surgery, each team member defined their role and my subsequent responsibilities to return to quality back health. I’ve spread the good to several in my community

Very good communications with both Jeff and Dr. Schwaegler. They both communicated often and explained everything very completely, both before and after surgery. The surgery was very successful, I have had NO pain at all since just a few days past surgery. I am regaining strength nicely. I know several people who have had similarly great results. I have recommended Seattle Spine Institute to several people. Definitely 5 star!

I was well informed on what was to take place . Everyone was so nice and made me so comfortable. Seeing as I was out of town they called and kept a close eye on me. I haven't felt this good in 7 years and I have recommended them to other friends and family.
